A Helix test is a procedure that measures how well a steam sterilizer penetrates hollow instruments. It’s also known as a steam penetration test. MITOS offers Autoclave helix test strips (also known as autoclave indicator strips) and helix test kits are used for this procedures.
It is very important in medical and dental settings where instruments with cavities, like laparoscopic tools and dental cannulas, need thorough sterilization to prevent spread of infection.
Helix test:
- Ensures that the sterilizer is functioning properly.
- Ensures that the sterilizer is achieving the correct temperatures, pressures, and times to sterilize instruments.
- Prevents the spread of infections to patients and operators
